Humanitarian Project in Mombasa desire is very straight forward: we want to get kids off the streets and back into the classroom. Many children in Kenya are born into a cycle of poverty that perpetuates the broken system that they have become victims of. HPM wants to help break this pattern and get Mombasa slum's and Kibra's youth back into school. We plan to meet this need by providing school fees for children who would otherwise not be able to continue their education u can help Humanitarian Project in Mombasa achieve its objectives by making a donation in one of three ways:

Challenge

Over 50,000 children in the slum of Mombasa will never be afforded the opportunity to go to school because of their circumstances. Many are orphans or vulnerable children that have no support, while others stay home and work to provide food for their siblings or family. Frequently, these children fall into the pitfalls of sex work, violent crime, or drug use. These problems in Mombasa are a direct reflection of a community without access to proper education.

Solution

Humanitarian Project in Mombasa wants to meet this need by providing academic sponsorships for children in Mombasa and Kibra Nairobi. Our goal is to try to raise funds, which will allow sponsorships to be provided for vulnerable children within  these communities. Equipped with an education, these children have the potential to make a difference within their community, and change the direction of their future. Sponsorships provides more than an education; they also give encouragement, support, and hope.

Long-Term Impact

The importance of education to the future of Kenya, and the world, cannot be overstated. Through education, children are empowered to make changes in their communities and overcome the shackles of poverty. This enables children to better themselves, their communities, and the world as a whole. Give a child an education and you give them more than opportunities; you give them hope for the future, the chance to make a difference, and the tools to give back

New sponsors required
Each January, new children start at the school. Please note that due to Covid-19, the new school intake for 2021 starts in July. These children would not attend school without sponsorship. If you would like to becoming a sponsor, please contact our office at humanitarianprojectinmombasa@yahoo.com one of our staff will connect you with our Director of fundraising for further details.  Sponsoring a Kenyan child really does make a difference to their lives.  .

Many of our new sponsors are friends and relatives of existing sponsors, so I guess we are doing something right!
